Subject: Accountant wants to live and work in Vancouver |

I´m a British, UK trained CA who wants to find the easiest / quickest route to living and working in Vancouver (before my Canadian girlfiend loses interest in me). I just wondered if anyone could tell me roughly how to go about doing this. I´ve read a little and it looks like my options are either to,
1) Find an employer in Vancouver who is willing to sponsor a work visa for me (somehow ?)
2) Apply through the skilled immigration process. But that takes 2, 3 maybe 4 years ?
Am i right ?
If there are any CA´s reading this who could help me assess my chances of getting a sponsorship that would be great...I heard there is a worldwide shortage of accountants just now...does that help?
I remember University friends going over to Canada to work for a year or so, in hotels etc...if I was desperate to get there could I do that while my skilled immmigration comes through? or is there an age limt. I´m 31. ( I´ll bet the limit is 30 !)
Finally, does anybody know how long I could come over and simply visit for...not working.
Hope someone can help.
