As my post-graduate work permit will end in August and one of its conditions mentioned that i must leave canada by the deadline. Thus, i wonder if i can apply for a visitor visa now? So as soon as the work permit ends, the visitor visa will simply carry over, and it allows me to pack and travel within canada for a while.
If yes, how can i apply one and how long it takes?

YES definitely you can apply for a visitor permit. Here´s the link which provides all the info, explore it well, fill-up the forms and submit.
