(in reply to: To Raj) Hi there!
Though i did not get any letter from CIC yet, but my e-status is changed. They Transfered my application to local CIC office. What does it mean that there may be more delay? what your e-status is saying. It is really difficult to sit at home and waiting.

(in reply to: To Raj) My e-client is "in process". Last thing it says is they received a letter from me April 27 (sent fingerprints, a call centre agent thought i should)
i think haveing your file transfered to a local office means your application did not pass first-stage approval as it needed further investigation. this will probably delay a bit your getting a workpermit, etc. as they may call you for an interview. On the brighter side, I read in another forum that someone had to go to a local interview and it went very well, s/he got the final PR approval then and there. So the process was ultimately shortened by months!

(in reply to: To Raj) Thanks In-country,
I don´t know why they send it to local CIC. I have question if you can help me. My extension for stay in Canada will expire on June 30,2005. by chance if I don´t hear from CIC, should I apply for further extension or not? as per new regulation there is no need to have a legal status in canada if one applied under spousal sponsorship.

(in reply to: To Raj) You will probably hear from CIC by the time you current status expires. I knows rules changed and you should not have to reapply; even though I´ve found it useful to have a vistor´s record. If I were you I´d wait until mid-june and if there is not news I would call CIC and ask if I have to renew visitor visa. Oh, and you don´t have to apply for extension a whole month before you current status expires - I was worried about that in december when i applied just mere days before the expiry of my student visa.
