i have lived in canada for 4 years, right now i live in London, UK. Toronto is a great place to live, if you can withstand the cold winters. it snows almost half the year. And trust me, u will get sick of snow. Canada is a good place for your children. You can stop worrying abt their education, and university education. However, i would suggest most people (varies frm profession to profession) to keep their jobs, and not quit in the hope that they will find something better in canada. The job market, when i left canada, in 2003, was really bad. It could have improved, a bit. It was so bad, that even the canadian graduates had a tough time finding work.

I felt sorry for the immigrants .. i knew a lot of immigrants there. The people who did good were those who sent their families to canada, but stayed behind and did not quit their jobs. However, they later re-united with their families, when they were in the verge of retirement, transfering most of their funds to canada, and usually buying a house. :)

Canadians are very friendly people. I have lived in the UK, canada and been to the US. So i am comparing canadians to the americans and the british people.

I wish luck to every immigrant. Hope canada works out for you.

I understand that they did so for their families and children´s own benefit. However, don´t you think that this separation have some bad impact on their relation as a family? Sometimes children need the existence of their father more than they need his money. Don´t you think that being with the family deserves the try and the hard work to build oneself within Canada ?
