Subject: Applying for PR within canada, common law partner
  Hi everyone,

My partner and I are currently filling out the forms for common law partner within canada.
I just want to know from people going through the same thing if there´s anything that we should be aware of such as proof of particular things, or written documents, how long it took, simply just feedback, or what they asked for more of?
I´ve read the checklist many times as well as the cic site so I´m looking for info that isn´t on the site.

Thank you, steph

Hi, I am engaged to a canadian who is also my common-law partner. With regards to the forms, where he was born a Canadian Citizen does he really need to fill out the background declaration, additional family information, show birth certificate, degree information and work experience?

your work experience is not in your field of education - strike one. You are claiming a skill that is currently not on the accepted NOC skill list. strike 2

as for claiming CEC Canadian Experience Class see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/index.asp

1 year work permit - not likely going to work.
