Is defaulting loan payments considered criminal ??,I had a loan defaulted in Australia ..but so far I never heard from them..,like they didnt try to contact me in my home country either or even in Canada as my University knew where I was going to ,they had the address but no one tried to contact me ..Iam applying for my police clearance in Aus now ,Would I be in any trouble..

Maybe ur defaulting loan is a civilian misdemenaour rather than a criminal one in canada...depends on what canadas rules are..you got to do more research on this...my gut feeling tells me you should be ok..as defaulting a loan is not a criminal offence...but a civilian issue...and if you are issued a notice to appear in court because u defaulted a loan and u didnt appear in court and then if the court issued u a warrant then that becomes criminal..if not then im sure you will be ok..just check canadian laws..do more research..

I think u should be fine...because u left australia for good..so maybe once u land in australia..ur credit history will be so screwed up because of this that u will owe some huge money to ur university including all interest and u will never ever be able to step into australia for sure as no one will hire u for a job or allow u to buy a car or house or anything until u clear this mess up..unless u plan to stay in australia as an illegal. But looks like u will be ok..and dont repeat the same thing in canada...or elsewhere..own up to ur responsibilities...
