| Subject: After marrige in Canada, is nanny contract void? |

Hi, I married a filipina nanny working in Canada a month ago, she is currently under a contract living in another town. Can we submit my spousal in Canada Class sponsorship application and her application for permanant resident before her contract has expired?...or must we wait? We are unclear on this matter as we are hearing different things from people.
Your help will be much appreciated.

you are eligible to sponsor her inside Canada as of the date of marriage. This has no bering on her current status. I would recommend sponsoring her, as the processing times for a live in caregiver are much longer. Family Class applications are a priority within CIC.
