Hey
Ive just returned from London, Ontario where i spent 3 great months with my Canadian girlfriend. We´ve know eachother 6 years and are engaged to be married, but how do i go about staying there for a year or so until i emigrate, and how long does the process take?
She has had a 4 month working VISA for the UK before but i can remember it taking aaaaaaaaaaages to complete, like 3 months. It was some kind of partner/spousal VISA that she had.
I need to get over there ASAP, i miss her like crazy. Do i just bluff my way into Canada again for another 3 months or begin the application process? I´d like to stay for up to a year but what do i apply for and how do i go about it?

I´m in a similar situation..I´m sponsoring my fiancee to immigrate to Canada. You have a few options:
1. She can sponsor you to Canada as a conjugal partner. However, you´ll have to wait in the UK while the application is being processed, which will take 1/2 year or more.
2. You can fly to Canada and get married. Then she can sponsor you, and you can stay in the country. After a few months, you can even work.
3. If you qualify, there are special "working holiday" visas. Check them out..there are a set # of visas granted each year per country, so the earlier you apply the better.
