Sharon,

John is right. Tomorrow is a holiday in France and that is on the list of the days that the embassy is closed. According to the Paris web site they are also closed on May 16th and May 23rd. I hope you have luck in getting through to them and find out what is going on with your application. Good luck and keep us posted.

thanks guys. we did not know about Thursday. Another day of unsuccessful phone calls would be a huge disappointment. Today´s situation has him totally dejected.

Sharon,

Did you have a scheduled appointment for the phone call?? Maybe you should send them a fax if possible about what happened and why you could not get through. I know when I had to fax my case officer on Paris, she always faxed me back within 5 business days max. The only other thing you can do is call on Friday when they are open again. It doesn´t say on the holiday page that they are closed on Friday, just Thursday. Let us know how things are going and best of luck.

Probably best to send a fax and explain why he missed the appointment. It is a holiday here tommorrow...
John I will send you the tel no´s as soon As I have passport request in my hands, as I will fly to Paris to have passport stamped the next day this should be in the next few days. I want to make sure that I have visa first.
Hope you can hang on just a little bit longer.

Mogs,

Just some information on going to the embassy in Paris. If you decide to go to the Paris embassy to pick up the visa, you can only go on Wednesday or Thursday. You have to drop if off between 9-10.30am and then come back in the afternoon between 14.00-15.00 to receive the passports with the visaa. It also states that you will not be admitted to the Embassy at any other time. So please reserve the whole day in order to get the visa. My husband flew to Paris to get the visa since we were travelling to Canada in the next 5 days. He flew the night before, stayed in a hotel and then arrived early at the embassy. He certainly was not alone outside, waiting for it to open. The principal applicant must go pick up the visa, however if he/she is not able, you must sign a declaration form to allow someone else to get the visa.

If you need more information about picking up the visa, just let me know and I will tell you more things that may help you.

got through to Paris on Friday morning. They still do not have things sorted out. Cannot determine if the problems they are experiencing are embassy wide or just with the north african files. We have been speaking with the head of the north african division and he has asked us to hold on for another week until they get things sorted out.

How bizarre, how frustrating, how stressful.

thanks for the moral support. :)

Sharon,

That is great that you finally got through to Paris today. I am sure it was not what you wanted to hear but it is better then nothing. I guess if you don´t hear anything in a week, you should contact them again. Let´s hope they really find something out with your case and that your man will finally get the passport request. Keep us posted, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!
