Subject: SHARON - HELP? AND anyone that can help.
My partner and I have applied for PR - Common-law Class and he is sponsering me within

Canada. (I am Australian and he is a Canadian Citizen). He is a school teacher and I cannot

see anything being rejected there, he has no criminal record, he is a very good law abiding

citizen. Good credit. As for me, I have NO criminal record, not wanted by the FBI, no

threat to Canada whatsoever. I have remand legal within Canada the whole time and have no

committed any crime. What are my chances?

Here is my time line :

Application recieved - Dec 23 2004
Started processing - March 8 2005
Letter sent asking for more info - April 15th 2005

They recieved my reply Monday 25th April according to Canada Post tracking number.

May 1st now and not heard anything since. I check e-client everyday. No more letters have been sent.

They just wanted me to update my new address for the records. But what really concerned me was that apparently I didn´t account for Dec 1994 to 1996 work history so they needed me to send back the information in order to process my application. So I did that. But I also don´t have a good memory for exact dates 10 years ago so I called the call center and ask the immigration officer if this would jeopdize my chances and he said "not at all" I just had to attach a note to the form stating that I cannot rememeber the exact dates. He said that they need at least a note from you, a letter because if I had not have written anything it would have been more of an issue and time consuming I guess.

I am worried that the work history will hurt me even though I was told it would not. I don´t know what kind of checks they do exactly and for sure, not just hear say but I am paranoid and scared out of my brains. I love my fiance and I cannot sleep peacefully at nights anymore concering myself over this PR thing, praying I don´t get rejected and have to leave him. We just moved into our new apartment, our home! I am just scared and can´t stop thinking about this. Help!?

Be patient...it will all be OK....it just takes time...when you are missing info, it will add more time to the processing.

Good luck

Honestly, I think you have a very good chance, just be patient and try to think of somethng else. This PR thing can be totally consuming...people think about it all the time and it makes them ill. The extra info will add some time to the processing but they will get through all of it and see that everything is OK.
I wish you luck.
Have a great day!

Thanks again, you´ve been wonderful. I am gathering you have been thru this sort of thing before? You sound like you know alot about this stiff more than the average person. lol

Looking at my time line, do you have an idea when I should hear something? What would normally be sent out next and seen on e-client? thanks in advance

It could be the third week of May when they start processing again......I would say that is the latest...... it could happen as early as this week. E-client will say that they have received a letter from you and processing has started.

I thought that by them sending me that letter for more information meant that they had already gone thru the application and that all was in apart from that more info stuff? I am not sure what you mean by them processing again. They have to go thru it again is that what it means? Thanks

First thing they do is they check the whole application for all required info...if they find any missing they send it back....you had yours sent back....now when you return it they will actually look into the validity of the info.....it may only take a few days but they may have pushed you back in the waiting line.....don´t quote me but they sometimes do that.
Like I said earlier....it could happen this week...they may start with the actual processing.....
I wish you luck...I will be sending you positive energy and good thoughts!

How do they go about checking validity? I thought there were privacy laws in place for each country? I guess that would explain the form I signed giving permission for the background check. Do you have any idea how they would even possibly verify my whole life if some of the things like for example where I have lived was very temporary and no record of it would have been mark down anywhere. I have written down all the locations I have lived and ones that they may not even find on file where ever they are going to look to verify. What happens then?

I really appreciate your knowledge on this stuff and answering my worrying questions.

They like to check everything......they have ways but I think you are worrying too much...honestly I dont think there will be any problems with your application...from what you described earlier....all should be OK. Try and relax a little and stop thinking aboutit so much....it helps to just do something to take your mind off of it.
I know it is hard but worrying never helps anything.
Keep smiling

Ok, I know I sound like a raving hysterical lunatic but that´s because I am so scared at the thought of being seperated from my partner and that my life is on hold at the mercy of a government agency. I have always managed to be a strong person thru out life and hold it together, I seem to be having trouble handling this one because of all the changes in my life and the life long plans my partner and I have made for ourselves. It just feels frustrating and it angers me that permission has to be given in order for us to fulfill our dreams. You understand what I mean I know.

Anyway, again I appreciate your time. I will keep you up to date when something new arises. Thank you. God Bless!
