(in reply to: Finally some good news from International students) one more question? do international students need apply work permit before doing part-time 20 hours?
because if you don´t have work permit, you can´t apply SIN.

(in reply to: Finally some good news from International students) Yes, there has definitely been good news from the Canadian government:
the pilot study to allow full-time international students to work off campus during their studies (already in place in some provinces), will be extended across Canada, and the opportunity for students to apply for a work permit to work for up to two-years after graduation will be extended across Canada as well (except for Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver). A bilateral agreement must be signed between each province and Citizenship and Immigration before these pilots take effect. This has not yet been done in Alberta for the off-campus work. (The two-year post-graduation work pilot study is already in place in Alberta).
Therefore, it is not yet possible for university students to apply for the off-campus work permit.
