Hi,
I´m done with my medical and currently gathering the documents CIC asked me in the Initial Assesment letter. US-FBI clearance will really take some time (2+ months). Do you think it´s better to send the RPRF (RightToPermanentResidenceFee) payment now? Or it´s better to send it along with all the documents requested? If I pay the RPRF early, will the passport request come early too?
Timeline (Fed-Skilled):
App: 5/04
AOR: 6/04
IA: 2/05
Medical: 3/05
Docs: ....waiting for FBI cert.....

I just submitted my fingerprint cards and the letter requesting the FBI certificates to the FBI office. I was told at the Embassy through which I did this that it would take about 3 weeks. Where did you hear 2 months? anybody else with experience with this? how long did it take you?

To Chrisdarm, I didn´t apply FBI-celarance in an embassy. I live in the US and the only way to get FBI-clearance here is thru mail to their CJIS division in Virginia. That takes 8-10 weeks nowadays.

I got the ´It takes 3 weeks´ from the embassy, but I am following the same path you are, i.e. sending finger print to Virginia. I think it´s the only way to get this FBI certificate. Yikes, 8 to 10 weeks! So much for embassy info! Thanks for the tip!!

Hello.
I submitted our fingerprint cards along with a letter indicated that for Canadian immigration purpose for requesting "no record" certifice to the FBI office. I got it back within 5 days.
My timeline:
application: June, 04
ack: July, 04
ask for doc/medical: Feb., 04
Sent fingerprint, medical, w2, paystub and bank statments: March, 04
Now: waiting.
