i had my CSQ (a quebec certificate and the undertaking) sent to new delhi on 10th march and it must have reached them by 16-17th march; so i guess after all the documents reached delhi, it has been 2-3 weeks for me!!
thats why i am hoping for things to go fine for all of us at the same time as me and anyone else....

dear 220-230;
I have been following this and other threads about this passport situation.

May I encourage you not to panic. There are 2 things happening at this time in CIC - a large increase in visitors visas because we approach the summer time. also, the system is beginning to deal with the 2001 applications that were caught in the lawsuit. To add to this, there are several new offices opening around India to help eleviate the work load (this is very good news for everyone).

You might not be getting answers to your faxes, but someone is reading them. They will not reply unless there is a problem - waiting too long is not a problem!

forget the idea of going to the embassy to plead for answers. If they start to do as you are suggesting, people like you would consume every minute of every day for CIC.

I understand your anxiety, but nothing will make CIC go any faster. What is happening to someone else, cannot be used to judge your own situation in the manner you are attempting. each file is unique and when it is ready, it will be ready.

i understand what are you saying but by any chance do you have an idea as to when they will be sending the passport , its very important for us to know , also how did you find out that they are busy in issuing the temporary visa , i mean to say is there any website we can read about it
Sharon just curious to know are you an immigration officer

no, I am not an immigration officer, just a Canadian business woman who reads a lot. there are several links on this website to articles that discuss challenges in the immigration system etc. If you read them and you will see that I am only repeating information that is set out in these various documents. there is no CIC website that says... sorry, we are taking 10 days longer to process a file because we received 150 visitors visa applications this morning. It will not happen that way.

I am not suggesting that your situation is not important... just suggesting the specific answers you are looking for are virtually impossible to obtain.
