Subject: transfer PR file from fed to provincial nominee
  hi all,

i applied for PR under federal skilled worker category in feb 2004. i have not got any response back from buffalo yet. in the meantime i have been offered employment in new brunswick, which has a provincial nominee program. currently i am an undergraduate student but in my last year. i will be graduating in may 2005.

my questions are:
can i transfer my file from federal to provincial nominee?
if so, is there any advantage of transferring the file?

thanks

I don´t think you can do so, as matter of fact, it will obviously delay your entire process.

it would be worth your while to discuss this with an immigration consultation. there has got to be a way to make this happen.

. Will it speed up the process if I apply to the BC PNP and to Citizenship and Immigration Canada at the same time?

No. In fact, it would cause confusion and actually slow the process down.

If you have already applied to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, British Columbia will still consider your provincial nominee application. However, the application process may be slower.

i applied in feb 2004 at buffalo. i´m hoping to have a final decision by the end of this year. maybe i´ll just wait ...after i discuss with the new brunswick immigration department.

Hey New Brunswicker,

PNP is to speed up immigration process. There is no transfer of files involved; the employer just has to submit the required docs. You get those docs from the employer, add a request letter/ or form etc.and send it to the CIC office. You r one of the lucky few...bask in the glory.

PNP - NB (in reply to: transfer PR file from fed to provincial nominee)
Hey..

I am a Provincial Nominee from NB. It takes around 6 months to get aproved by the provincial goverment, than the file is send to Buffalo, where it can take 6-12 months. my file was send in december 2004, i am done with my medical and all required documents has been send.

I saw my Caips that my file will be bought forward on 1st June, hopefully i will get request then.

If your file is in process for such a long time at Buffalo than leave it as PNP will increase your time .

Thanks.
