| Subject: concerning the AOR |

this question might seems stupid ,but just wanted to ask .
anyways , i submitted my file on the 2nd of march 2005 and got my AOR letter dated 9th of march 2005(cairo )
i was wondering does that mean that all the data and documents in the file are sufficent ( meaning that they have gone throught the file ) or that when they start processing it GOd knows when , they might send it to me because of lack of certain documents ..

I´m not 100% certain as I am totally new at this, but my understanding of an AOR is that it is just that: an Acknowlegement Of Reciept, nothing else. So all it means is that they got your package, not that it is complete and all (unfortunatly). I hope someone else can confirm my impression.

there are several standardized CIC forms in your application. when you get your AOR it indicated that the legal forms have been accurately filled in, you have sent your application money, there is some sort of proof of funds and language. That´s it. you have now given CIC enough to begin looking at the contents of your file. that is the point you are at.

look into your AOR, if they have given you a file number of sort then that means that they have started your application already and what you have sent in your package has enough information already for them to start it, if you need to send anymore papers or documents in the middle of the processing they will notify you by writing you a letter with regards to additional documents they do need. If you have the file number with your AOR you can check in www.cic.gc.ca E-client online application and enter your information there including the file number and you can see when did they started processing your papers.
