Subject: just wondering...
has anyone every heard of someone getting their IA, interview waiver, clean medicals, ROLF paid, positive police clearances... and still be declined at the end of the day for PR?

waiting does something to the mind.

I think it will be a little bid weird like this, however, i am not 100% sure. Once you got interview waive, everything should be fine. Sharon, please don´t worry too much

Sharon...you mean you can´t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet? You´re soooooo close. I hope you´re not letting that jerk in Paris who R. spoke to give you crazy ideas.

Yijie..Why did you change your name? I think you are Departure Bay. I can tell by the pattern of syntax that you use to write. Anyway, the other day I checked in some passengers at the airport going to Nanaimo and I had to laugh. Keep cool.

Sharon... anything is possible with the Canadian immigration process. I don´t know who you are waiting for, your husband or relative, but I guarantee that CIC is doing its best to get the case processed ASAP. Sometimes, police requests and security checks create a problem, but in general the proud representatives of our country in overseas offices are working to comply with conflicting goals of family reunification and economic capacity to receive migrants. You can be sure that our government will never do anything wrong, I feel proud about being Canadian and about the excellent job CIC and overseas officers are doing to keep our country one of the most prosperous and secure nations in the world. Please, understand that your delay is neccesary to guarantee security to all the citizens of Canada.

Menio, are you working in YVR? wow, cool. how comes people choice to take plane to Nanaimo? consider such beautiful weather right now? B.C ferry will be the best choice.

Yep, Sharon, everything will be fine, based on my memory, he is under final stage right?I guess Paris office might have more cases backlog.

give you a song Sharon, "push" from Sarah Mclachlan
"
I get mad so easy but you give me room to breathe
No matter what I say or do ??cause you??re too good to fight about it
Even when I have to push just to see how far you??ll go
You won??t stoop down to battle but you never turn to go"

god bless everyone

Unfortunately, the CIC has all right to decline an application at any stage and without explaining why (in detail at the least).

One thing they also run in final stage is their own background check to ensure the candidate is clean in all records. I guess unless there is a major red-flag the final stage comes clean. It only delays the whole process. If anyone has details on this please share as we are all guessing how long it takes and how many databases do they run your checks with etc?

Anyway Sharon, I?m sure it is a matter of routine for your case as for everyone else.

The last stage and the one that is really making lot us anxious is waiting for PP Request. Until the last year the time between medicals and submissions of other documents and PP request was about a month. Now it has crossed three months.

This brings me to ask people who have passport requests to please post their dates of medicals and other document submissions. For Buffalo ? Independent class I?m seeing a 3 month wait before on hears PP requests. I?m I correct?

I knew it would take some time to do the backgrounds. we are currently at 60 days. R has been to the US twice at the invitation of the US government, so I am sure the clearances will be fine...BUT we had this very strange call with an immigration officer in Paris that has thrown my confidence entirely out the window. He said things like ´don´t be optimistic´. Maybe he was having a bad day, but it sure has messed us up emotionally. It is very difficult for R in his home country right now so every day feels like forever.

I am not sure which is worse...waiting at the beginning or waiting at the finish line.
