I found out that they have started processing my app from E-Client. It says the day that they received it and also the day that they started to process it.

Hi Dandy

They will send you a letter ( First Approval) in 92 Days from the date they recvd your application. Do you have Work Permit? If not you can apply for the same after that letter. Good Luck.

Dear In country,

You will too definately see your file in process in few days. BTW when you applied?

Hi Raj,

I applied in the very end of December, 29th I believe. It would be awsome if I get the IA in 92 days, as you say. I assumed so far that it would take at least 5 months - that´s what CIC told me over the phone, and their site says so. But it would be great if it happens earlier - I am getting tired of not being able to work or leave the country.
What about you? Are you in Canada?

Raj & In Country...

No I do not have a work visa... unfortunately. I´ve been working my butt off to get a job and have it classified under NAFTA but Toronto is not exactly an easy place to find a job. I am hoping to have an interview with a company in Alberta and moving out there. I want to get out of the city anyways...

As for the 92 days... where did you come up with that number? Everywhere I see the averages are 5-6months. I would be really really happy to have it only be 92 days... Well actually now that I think about it, 92days from the day they began to process it is right around June, exactly 6months from the day they received it. Oh well... I just want to be able to WORK!!!

My wife makes enough to support both of us but I´m just SOOOOO BORED being unemployed. I read and read and read but it gets so old. My profession is in GIS and Remote Sensing, essentially computer mapping and spatial database management. There are quite a few jobs here in Toronto but there are a lot of people who are more qualified and willing to work for less $$$ than I am. Out west [Alberta & BC] there are quite a few jobs in my field, and if I am offered a job we will relocate.

Anyhow... Thanks all

Cheers

Dear Dandy & In-Country,

Yes I am in canada and applied for PR under Spousal Sponsership. My application was recvd by CIC on Dec. 10 and it is under process. Though I got my visitor Record too till June 2005 and they normally extend the stay up to tentetive date before application get processed. Secondly I was not aware that one could apply for work permit while one applied for extension. but later on I got information from CIC that I could apply for WP and then for SIN too while processing of application.

Well, you guy must misunderstood what I said 92 days. YES ...if every thing is staright forward about your application, you will get you first approval in 92 days. But total process up to PR is 5-6 months as they mentioned. So please don´t confused ......

Good Luck.

Well, the reason for my confusion is that I have called CIC and asked them when can I apply for work permit. Answer was: after you get you IA (initial approval). When is that, I asked, and she said in about 5-6 months after you apply. Nothing about 92 days.
