Subject: leaving Canada while waiting for permanent residen
  Hi,

I am currently working as a live in caregiver. I wanted to ask if after submitting my application for a permanent residence I can leave Canada without losing the right to be a permanent resident.

Since the waiting time for permanent residence is around 3 years, I was wondering if I can go to my home country for that time and still have the right to become a resident.
