Subject: When 'Landing' in Canada
  Hello
I will be ´landing´ in Montreal over the next few weeks to activate my PR - which I am really excited about :-)
As I was accepted via the Quebec system I will be landing in Montreal and spending 4 days there to scope out the City and leave a few CV´s for work openings. I then want to take the train to Toronto and fly from Toronto to Vancouver then Vancouver back to London - again so that I can check out the major cities and get a better idea of where I want to settle.

My question is:
1) When ´landing´ will immigration want to see that I am in Montreal for the duration of my visit?
2) Will it be a problem for me to take internal flights after landing i.e. 2-3 days after activating my PR?
3) Will I be creating problems for myself by leaving via Vancouver rather than Montreal?

I know that it is perfectly acceptable to come for a few days to activate my PR and then leave, but not sure that all the movement in such a short period will be viewed well given that I should be settling in Quebec.

Please help....

Thanks
Dee

No issues with your plan, make sure that if you give an address for your PR card, it is a Quebec address.

Thanks - I won´t have an address at that point however. Will that be a problem or will immigration be ok to leave it blank for now?

You can say you don´t currently have an address. You can update it later by calling CIC or online.

1) When ´landing´ will immigration want to see that I am in Montreal for the duration of my visit?
- No, the only concern would be that in your application you stated that you are intending to live in Qc and for the sounds of you may move to another province, shortly after landing. If your intentions are to live in Qc then there is no problem, the entry process will be very straight forward.

2) Will it be a problem for me to take internal flights after landing i.e. 2-3 days after activating my PR?
Nope, once you enter Canada and you are admitted, you will be a PR at the moment the officer stamps your passport. You are free to go where ever you want.

3) Will I be creating problems for myself by leaving via Vancouver rather than Montreal?
- No, again as a PR you can enter and leave Canada from ANY authorized port of entry within the country.

Aaaaaaah.. the tangled webs we weave! When you land, just tell the immigration ppl your plans, that is the best course of action! There is so much deception it is hard to see anything trustworthy these days

I totally agree with wioeuwe - When you land, just tell the immigration ppl your plans, that is the best course of action! There is so much deception it is hard to see anything trustworthy these days. Truth is always the best and always ENOUGH!
