Subject: To marry or not to marry
  Hi
can anyone help.
I am based in the UK and just received my permanent residence as a skilled worker. During my 3 year wait I have met a wonderful man and we want to get married this year. My question is - should I īlandī and then come back to the UK and get married then submit his residency application or should I get married and submit my husbands papers before landing in Canada?
Also - is it possible to get my SIN sent to a postal box rather than a residential address as I want to land the return to the UK for a while before returning permanently.
Please help.

Just the cost of a flight.

Land first and then think about your future life.

Thanks Roy
I didn´t understand your reference to ´just the cost of a flight´? please explain.
Also - does anyone know whether I can get my SIN posted to a Postal box or does it need to be a residential address?

Your SIN and Permanent Resident Card has to be sent to a residential address. You don´t need your sin to travel back to Canada, the SIN is necessary when you are ready to work in Canada.

What Roy is saying is to spend the money to travel to Canada, land, become a permanent resident, then go back to your home country... get married then come back to Canada, get a job and then sponsor your future husband.

Keep in mind that you cannot sponsor a person and stay outside of Canada during the process while you are still a PR.

If you get married and than land thinking you can sponsor him in the future you will get a nasty surprise. If you do not inform CIC of your change in marital status and if he is not examined you will never be allowed to sponsor him.

Understood - hence why I was debating whether to land first OR get married then declare him via CIC and start the process of changing his status from the UK. However, following this advice I will "land" first and sponsor him when I move.

At this hour in your time and life, I would say do not marry.
