I sponsor my wife she is here with me in canada. The immigration send me a letter that i am eligible to sponsor my wife after few weeks my wife recieve email from the immigration stating that your sponsorship has been apptove.

My wife is a PRC holder and her PRC shall expire by Aug 2014. We have one son, aged around 16 months.
My wife is living with us in Pakistan and she wants to save her PRC status and sponsor me and son for Canadian Immigration.
My queries are:
1. Must she go to Canada to apply for the sponsorship? Or she can apply while living in Pakistan?
2. Must she stay in Canada till a decision is made on approval/refusal of her sponsorship application?
3. If she wants to get extension in her PRC status, what is the procedure?
4. How much extension is possible on humanitarian grounds?
5. Any expert suggestion from your side please.
I would be obliged for your expert advice.
