Subject: Invitation Letter Tips, Best Chances of Approval
I am a currently serving member of the Canadian Forces with 17 years service to my country. I am caucasian Canadian born citizen in Halifax NS. My fiance is Punjabi Indian from Delhi and I would like to have him visit me in April. We have known each other a long time, and I have been to India to visit him. We plan to alternate visiting each other every 6 months until my contract is done in the Navy in 3 years time, when we plan to get married.

I have been told that Indians 90% are denied tourist visas just based on being from India. So I am looking for how best to increase his chances to come visit me. After looking at the CIC website and what is required, it looks like he should have no issues, but obviously I am leery. Here are his details:

- He is a superspecialist surgeon, internationally known and working for World Health Organization as a senior consultant. He also owns his own medical practice in Delhi and works in a hospital there.
- He owns property in India
- He is the primary care giver of his elderly Mother, requiring him to return to India after the trip to resume this duty
- The above should proove his ties to India and that he is not a risk of violating the tourist visa
- Having a high profile and high paying career means he has sufficient funds to pay for any needs he might encounter while here
- He will be staying with me for the duration of the visit
- I can submit a photocopy of my recent Visa to India along with the letter of invitation as proof of our genuine relationship
- I can also supply photos from my time in India with he and I together in the photo
- I plan to get the letter of invitation notarized before I send it, as proof of authenticity

Is there anything else I can do to increase the chances that a CIC Visa agent won´t just see ´Indian´ on the application and stamp it denied?? He is a Sikh man (and I also follow the Sikh faith). I was thinking that maybe the local Sikh temple here could also write an invitation letter for him to visit...

90% denial rate for Indians is very high. Does CIC care about fiances? I know if we were already married, that we would not have a problem as Canada allows sponsorship of spouses.

Any information appreciated to help us!

Sponsorships are totally different than visitor´s visas. People from India don´t get their visas denied for being "Indian".
At the end of the day, he would have to prove that he has no interest of staying illegally in Canada if authorized to enter the country.

He needs to show enough ties to his home country. CIC doesn´t care about fiancées. Actually it could bring more red flags than anything else.

The sponsorship program is available for Permanent Resident applications, there is no such a thing for visitors.

I wouldn´t use in your invitation letter the sentence "I am Caucasian Canadian born citizen"
