Subject: Vehicle theft of cash, vehicle registration papers
In May 2013, I entered Canada at the Lewiston-Queenstown Bridge and was pulled aside for a secondary inspection. I was sent back to the USA which I have no objections to, but I did mention that I am a cancer survivor. The CBSA did an inspection of my vehicle and 200 dollars in cash went missing from my camera bag as well as the registration card for my truck and my insurance card from the glove compartment. I stood 20 feet in front of the truck and watched this take place but was so intimidated at not being on US soil nor Canada soil to have the protection of either country´s laws. I could have been locked up for creating a situation of questioning what happened to my funds I needed to return home on. They are in authority there, not I. So I had to do as was told. I had to replace these cards in North Carolina when I got back, but could have been heavily fined for driving in the states without these proof of ownership cards or insurance proof. I sent a 4 page highly detailed letter to Ottawa headquaters on the problem, and underwent a 1 1/2 hour phone call interview because the interviewer could get the story straight. Then a month later received a letter from the CBSA that there is no evidence of any truth in my complaint. They stated that yes they did indeed find cash funds in my camera bag, but nothing was stolen. How could they remember that I had cash in my camera bag almost 2 months after the incident when these people inspection perhaps 40 cars per day 5 days a week unless something amiss stood out in their own minds? I don´t intend to visit Canada again as I was there for a wedding, and this C43 bill really needs to be overhauled if they expect foreign import trade and tourism to increase. I don´t mind being sent back to the USA, BUT DON´T STEAL THE FUNDS I HAVE IN MY VEHICLE for me to get home on. The TSA regularly steal from luggage in the USA as is evident on YouTube videos. Canada´s CSBA cannot tell me that their employees are morally or ethically spotless. It isn´t the amount I am complaining about, it is the theft by agents who are looking for incoming tourists who may not be moral enough themselves to enter Canada.

Oh my... thank you very much for this info; When I go US nest, I will make sure nothing valuable is left in the vehicle for the scumbuckets to steal.... This maybe happening on both sides, while coming back to Canada, I have had fun watching the lowlives go thru my truck, all the while mumbling ´you sure you have nothing in here?´ They seem to think every canadian going to US is smuggling stuff back! Sometimes it is embarrassing to see canadians put bags of groceries for the customs to go thru!! Poor lowlives can´t even afford groceries in our stores!!! reflects very bad on the country; and the customs, like traders in African fleamarkets, mumbling and harassing the penny pichers!! :) What a show.... what a depravity

denial of theft (in reply to: Vehicle theft of cash, vehicle registration papers)
There are videos on YouTube of the American TSA officers stealing from luggage. The Canadian side feels it is totally innocent from any of this wrongdoing! I felt that putting my travel money in my camerabag would have kept it safe. They told me they believed that the American side stole it when I made a U-turn on the bridge. When I got to the American side to go home, I kept my keys with me at all times. They had me park my vehicle in plain sight of me and never searched it. The American authorities were more interested in why I was refused entrance to Canada. Five minutes later it was all over, I got back in the vehicle and went back into Buffalo. The Canadian side is in total denial that they are capable of stealing. I was amazed to discover that one only needs a high school diploma, training, and a background check to become a Canadian inspection officer.
