Subject: Certificate of No Criminal Conviction, Please help
  Hello,

I will be applying for a permanent resident status in Canada. According to the "CANADIAN AND IMMIGRATION", I will need to apply for the ´Certificate of No Criminal Conviction´ in person if I am in Hong Kong. In order to apply for the ´Certificate of No Criminal Conviction´, the "CANADIAN AND IMMIGRATION" website states that I will need to provide the "Certificate of No Criminal Conviction Police Department (CCNC)" with the "original letter from the Canadian Consulate General requesting the certificate". How will I be able to obtain this letter from the Canadian Consulate General?

Also, could anyone please clarify the following for me as I am confused. Both information is provided by the Canadian and Immigration website... once I have applied for the CNCC in person the website stated that
"...the certificate will be released directly to the Canadian Consulate General". However, page 5 of the Immigration Guide "also" provided by the CANADIAN AND IMMIGRATION website states that "I must attach the original police certificate(s) to my application." My question is, should the CNCC Police Department be sending the certificate to Canadian Consulate General OR to me, the applicant, directly?

Thank you very much!

Elia

WHY CONFUSE? (in reply to: Certificate of No Criminal Conviction, Please help)
The certificate will be released directly to the Canadian consulate so you don´t need to attach it to your application which is only general information for most of other applicants.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I was a bit confused because my colleague´s cousin is encountering a similar problem. She was told that the CNBC will be directly mailed to the consulate of Canada but while CIC was processing her application, CIC sent her a mail stating that she needs to pro submit her CNCC to them before a deadline.

WHY DON'T YOU WAIT TIL ASKED? (in reply to: Certificate of No Criminal Conviction, Please help)
Hong Kong will not release a police clearance without a letter from the Canadian consulate.

You, the applicant, should wait for the request letter from Canadian consulate.

You apply for the police clearance when the request letter arrives from Canadian consulate.

When applied and approved, the police clearance will be directly mailed to the Canadian consulate.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you so much, I am much more clear about the procedure now. I want to be more prepared than last minute as my colleague´s cousin felt so confused and didn´t know Where she could find the answers to her questions as she was applying and there were deadlines. Much appreciated!
