Subject: Getting my fiance from Ghana to visit me in Toront
  Hi,
I first met my fiance in June 2005, when I was travelling WA. We fell in love instantly and I choose to stay with him instead of continuing to travel. I stayed with him for just over 6 months.

I returned to toronto for 4 months for work than returned to Ghana for just over a year, living with him and his family. I returned again to work (I work as a server in restaurants and catering. I am always employed) for about a year than went back for a year to live with him. I came home and had a year of bad luck, getting a strange skin illness that kept me in toronto for close to 2 years. It was heart wrenching. The meds they put me on messed up my head so I could never concentrate on anything, thus couldn´t even consider the visitor´s visa forms. I returned Aug 2011 to see him and returned again Christmas 2011. I just returned from a short 6 week trip to see my love.

The amount of money spent on calling cards alone is killing us. I know all his friends and family and he has not had that oppotunity. He´s dying to meet my mom, but my mom is kinda old and diabetic and doesn´t want to go the Ghana.

He has a foundation in conjunction with a German family, as well as runs a shop selling local crafts for the foundation. I own land in the area and am banking some money to build a hostel on it as soon as I can. but right now, we want to be together. I´m stuck here working, and he´s wanting to be with me. We have been trying to make a family but time and distance are not our friend.

Proof of a legit relationship is easy. I´ve spent almost more time with him living in Ghana than in my hometown. My financial records are good, contrary to the amount of travel. neither of us are criminals. He doesn´t have much of a bank account, but I´m happy to help him.

Is it a pipe dream that he can come visit this summer? like soon??? I´m sick and tired of us being apart. But even the time we spend apart we always are back together. We have a true connection and love for each other. Plus its baby making time!!!! hahaha!!

Please help me know how to get my man here asap!
Madasi pa! (thank you very much)

It is very unlikely that he will get a visitor´s visa. It appears from all angles that he will not return to his home country if allowed to enter Canada.

You basically have three options:

1- He can attempt to permanently immigrate to Canada on his own merits. He must qualify under the federal skill program or to obtain a provincial nominee certificate and immigrate under the provincial nominee program. Again, he has to qualify for it. Process takes about 2-5 years.

2- If you guys get married, you can sponsor him as a family member. He has to remain in his home country until the application is approved. Process takes 8 months - 2 years

3- If you qualify as a common-law relationship you can sponsor him to come to Canada.Process takes 8 months - 2 years.

You seem to want create next generation; however, with all wild banging while you were in the bush country, you did not get preggers? Stop taking your birth control and it might improve your chances of catching the sperm. Since you seem to have bought some land in Ghana, why not move there permanently and build your hostel and make babies and live simple life. Your skin condition could be some infection contracted there or from teh wild man back in Ghana. Please take my advice, just move to Ghana and make a life there... Down the road (say 10 years) it would be a lot easy to convince your man as well as Canadian Embassy to let you back in with your brood...

Thanks for that profound reply, above poster. The skin infection in fact had nothing to do with Ghana but something I caught in Toronto. As it stands, I could very well be pregnant now but thanks for your concern. Comments such as yours, rife with ignorance and bigotry, are not welcome.
