I applied to sponsor my husband in 2010 and we are still waiting on a final answer. My husband needs an ARC. The last information we have is that it is in queue for review. On the GCMS notes the date that the file was sent for ARC was back in Feb 2012. Apparently there seems to be no set timeline for the processing of ARC. My emails for status update goes unanswered. The visa office is Port of Spain
Questions: Is ARC the final stage - do they only send to ARC stage when they are ready to issue the visa
Does making enquiry on your file status delay the processing and will or can this be used against the client
I was told by Roy at one point that avg processing time for ARC from POS is approx 6mths is that still the case & if so what might be causing the delay?
Would ARC processing be initiated with background checks outstanding?
His Medical is expired & his police record would be outdated by now having being both submitted with the application - should we go ahead & resubmit both?
Should I just wait as nothing I do will change things?

-They send you the arc request at final stage before visa issuence , they ---ask you to write aletter explaining why you should be given an ARC.
Asking about your file will not cause any delay , there is no retaliation
-for ARC they do a cbsa background check , they ask for copies of docs from your local cic office that proceeded to the deportation along with an opinion from the cbsa wether they agree or not to your return to canada , cic is not obliged to follow the opinion but its rare thatthey go against it.
-if an update is needed they will contact you or send you along with the arc an aditional document tequest
