Subject: Re: My house in Canada
Leave alone my grief from what happened to me (old thread if you don´t know the story. I will deal with that and will never let it go.
But now, as you knew from the thread I was tricked and misled in buying that house in Canada through Real Estate scammers...I complained against the scammers and lawyer invloved. They all were charged but details of charges were kept fom me for privacy reason. That is the only reason I visited Canada few times in order to sell, or find a way out of that loss.
How and what can I do with my house, while I am not allowed to go there for one year? No one is there..just the house alone.
I appeared in a court trial which in itself was miscarriage of justice. I found a lawyer there representing me, whom I never met before or had a chance to tell him the story. He was a real "JERK".
Anyway: what is the best advice to deal with the house issue.?
Thanks

Depends. Do you want to keep it or sell it? If you want to keep it then hire a management company to find qualified renters on your behalf and manage the property in your absence. If you want to sell it, the find a reputable real estate agent in that city and sell it.

Thanks.
Renters and renting will keep the ties that I dont want.
Selling is the best option. But those scammers who tricked me to buy the house, came from reputable real estate: REMAX. Later to find out the unique Canadian term "BUYER BE AWARE". its dliemma indeed. I lost almost $650,000.00 in that scammer´ house.

Then find another real estate agent. You must have made at least one or two friends while in Canada. Ask them for a recommendation.

The real estate industry is regulated. If the agents did something wrong, they can lose their license. If the seller did not disclose something - they can be sued. If you did not chose to have a building inspection done and the house was a grow-op or had structural problems and you did not put subjects on your offer of sale - you are out of luck. Nobody to blame for that one but yourself.
