Subject: name discrepancy
My official documents such as drivers license and passport show my name as middle/first/last name however my birth certificate lists my christian names in the original order. This is the only document whereby my names are shown this way and I had no official change made... I´m currently looking to immigrate to Canada and need to submit the documents for proof of identity. Will i have a problem with the discrepancy between my birth certificate and all my other documents? My names haven´t changed, they´re just in a different order and my birth cert doesn´t actually specify first and middle name, it just says ´christian names´.

Thanks for any help.

it doesn´t create problem if its not an important doc, i will advise to you to fix your passport at least your passport and other id should be the same . or fix your birth certificate .you should do it in the court.
it happens all the time with people who have 2 first names (in some countries they don´t definite it as middle name)
yohansen, Allan Gerard = Allan Gerard, Yohansen ≠ Gerard Allan ,Yohansen
you cain´t swith the order of the two first names ...

Family name in your passport is correct and given names are just that. Given names. If one given name is used more often that another that is your choice. Your document will have the names as they are on your passport.

Thanks for responding.
The two answers seem to be conflicting.

Its difficult for me to make any official changes because I´m currently in Canada and i will breath a sigh of relief if I don´t have to knowing there isn´t a problem...

To Roy, when you say, ´your document´, do you mean my application?
Are you saying that I should submit in the same order my passport says and that it shouldn´t matter that my birth certificate lists my names in a different order? I notice that both theses documents don´t specify ´first´ or ´middle/second´ but just ´given names´. Is that why a discrepancy will be OK, provided the 2 names are the same of course?

The two answers are the same it doesn´t create a problem.

CIC will use the names that is in your passport. Your family name is fine from the information in your post. Your given names are given names and if the two or three etc. given names are listed there is no false information.

Once your landed if you want to officially change your order of your given names do so.

Read the application forms they do not say Family name, first name then middle name.

What about people from certain countries that have four or five given names.

Relax breath in and smell the roses.
