Subject: Is this implied status? |

I came to Canada with multiple entry visitor visa. I got married to my girl friend (permanent resident) of six years.
We applied for in-land spousal sponsorship days before my visitor visa expired. Open work permit application was not included with the P.R. application.
Am I allowed to stay in Canada without any offence until a decision is made on my application? Is this implied status?
There are varying opinions on this. Please help What should I do!

(in reply to: Is this implied status?) No that is not implied status.
You HAVE to apply for an extension in your visitor´s visa while your PR is still in process.
Once you are approved in stage 1 then apply for a work permit and keep the permit valid until a final decision is made on your application.
