Subject: file number and u c i what next please
  my sponsor received acknowledgement letter in her email address, which include file number and u c i, when i checked e cas online they send they have received our application i submitted my application in June 2012 which is inland application for common law,when will be the first stage of approval, because am trying to apply for open work permit for my partner he lives with me here in Canada is on study visa, should i wait for the approval or i should send the document of the open working permit with the file number and u c i number been given to us , please what should i do, hope to hear from you.

If he is on a study permit and six months since he was admitted he needs to prove that and apply now. His College or University can explain the details.

he had been here since 2010 September,we have been living together since June 2011, we have joint bank account that we open toward ending of October 2011.Also they have not yet approval our common law form that we submitted in June 2012, but we have all the file number and u c i number.but my question my spouse is just taken one subject or two subject per term does he qualify for an open working permit. when do u think they will approve us for the fist stage.
Also am the sponsoring i have been separated for 8 years with my ex husband do i till qualify for common law partner, the marriage had been broken up since 2004, hope to hear from you.
