Subject: Urgent! Questions on sponsoring spouse!
  Dear all,

I have a few questions if anyone who are sure what the answers are please help. Me answers them.

My husband and I are planning to move back to Canada. He is not a canadian citizen.
If I decides to go ahead and move back first to applying for sponsoring a spouse, how long after I moved back can I apply since they do say "a canadian citizen who resides in canada." Do I need a stable job and shelter first to prove that I reside before I can apply?

If I decided to stay with my husband abroad and we apply for it while we are overseas but once the step 1 where sponsor has been approved then I move back to get everything settle first while step 2 is still in process waiting for the application be forwarded to a consulate where the country he still lives in and process, would it still be valid since I have moved back and the situation has changed ? Will they terminate my application?

If my application has been denied, I reapply again and refused once again, can I apply again? Are there any time limit or the number of times I am able to apply for sponsoring?

If anyone can help me answers these questions, I would be greatly appreciated. The call center lines are always busy and I can never get through. Thanks greatly!

You need assistance because your intelligent and then interpret the act in a novice sort of way.

Remember, Government employees love to say NO! If they say yes they might have to justify their decision.

Day one you can sponsor.
No stable job or shelter required, in theory.

Income is not an issue when sponsoring a spouse but read IRPA A39. Then if there is no clear intention to prove your returning to Canada your spouse will be refused.

Outside of Canada sponsorship´s you can appeal but it takes a long time to have your appeal heard.

Do it right the first time.

I don´t think this statement holds water - are their decisions taken to court when they say "yes?"

similar situation please help (in reply to: Urgent! Questions on sponsoring spouse!)
I have a similar situation in that my fiance isn´t in Canada and needs a visa to come here which is proving to be difficult. I don´t mind moving down there for a year or two (we are planning to be married soon) , but ultimately I want to come back and live in Canada, I am a Canadian citizen and do love living here.

If I move down there and get married, I will have to quit my job here and I understand if I sponsor someone I need to meet minimum income requirements.

Is there anyway to sponsor your husband from out of Canada and stay together in that country until he is allowed into Canada as my spouse so we can move back to Canada together? Or do I have to come back to Canada without him, get a job and then sponsor him. I just don´t want to move down there only to come back to Canada and be apart from him again for a couple of years while the application is being processed.

Any help on this would be great.

Good marketing line Roy...but hmmm I was thinking exactly what cornflake said...aren´t we usually represent clients at the IRB when they say "no"?
More scrutiny goes into "no" than to "yes".
That was a goldfish bite

Am I suppose to be upset by the Cornflakes comment? My ancestors invented breakfast cereals what did yours do of any note worthiness?

NO notmore scrutiny goes into a NO then a YES and you would have knowen this GNI if you had ever worked for CIC.

Even an extended hearing at the IAD is no longer than 4 hours and 15 minutes. Many Refugee claims are heard within one hour. What is your point?

Oh I actually missed Cornflakes comment. Whoops.

CIC - Staff are regularly Investigated for saying YES to often or whispers in the back room that he/she is too friendly to Counsel will cause an internal investigation and their careers are destroyed whether guilty or found innocent.

Once I did not really seek detention based on the evidence on file and boy was I raked over the coals for that decision.

Still rhapsodizing about breakfast cereals? My goodness.., but let´s get down to brass tacks on your last bombast - "CIC - Staff are regularly Investigated for saying YES..."

That´s just hogwash, but your descendants will be able to brag about their forebearer refining hogwash for the indigestion of those who know better.

You should wash your mouth out with some facts on this current stream of thought.
