Subject: ATTN: ROY and SHARON >> PLS ADVISE
Hi. Im Sterling. Im a canadian citizen and currently
deployed in Afghanistan for work as a soldier. I have a
girlfrend in the Philippines..I just want to ask for your advice.
Is it better to marry her outside Canada?
Regarding genuineness of the marriage
what other factors? we do skype and yahoo messenger all the time. and i remember i read in one of the forum
we need to spent long time together in person? what if after our marriage we
will only spend together let say 2 months coz i have to go back to work?
also i read the forum one of the proof is receipt or joint account.
I just want to tell you that im not sending her money eversince because she has
a stable job in the Philippines. So what other documents/factors should we submit
when we will apply for a spousal visa aside from marriage certificate as a proof that
our marriage is genuine?
Can you please help me? any advise? Will this situation complicate our application?

Sterling,

First Salute, thanks for your service overseas, may God bless with you.

Second, it is better if you marry her outside of Canada. It will be a bit hard for her to obtain a visa to enter Canada as visitor to get married.

Your best option is to get married then sponsor her even if you are outside of Canada. The process is faster and if for some reason your application is not approved, then you have the right to appeal it.

Once the application is approved, the embassy will issue her an Immigrant visa. She would have to land in Canada either with you or after you (you would have to be in Canada at the time of landing) after that she would become a Permanent Resident of Canada (right at the Port of Entry).

WOW DocD you advised correctly (lol) this time.

Get plenty of relationship photos staged photos are nothing. Make sure that her friends are in the photos with you and her.

Have your buddies take pictures of you talking to her on skype. Have her wear different outfits when her friends take pictures of you and her talking on skype.

Learn everything you can about her family and that she knows all about you. Google Chavez vs. MCI IAD appeal really explains what is needed to prove a genuine relationship.

Sterling

Ask yourself this question how many woman want out of the Philippines and would fool a lonely soldier?

Then ask yourself;

Why me? Why is she attracted to me? What do we have in common? What are our plans for the future? Where do we see ourselves in five years?

Now the Philippines do NOT allow proxy marriages to the best of my knowledge and their process involves a lot of extra stuff. You got to go and do it right the first time if getting married in the Philippines.

You´re asking a Consultant to say that a Lawyer is better than a Consultant instead who is experienced with marriages.

But I do believe Afghanistan allows proxy marriages.

Try reading this and if you can get married by proxy and that marriage is recognized by the government of Afghanistan you can sponsor her tomorrow.

Hey Sterling, I love your message, ..and Docs greeting was awesome, made me really fart ... Anyways... now lets be serious... please read Roy´s message 100 hundred times... I know you are a soldier it must be difficult for you to understand what he means since you could be tired after a long and stressful day, so read it again and again and try to understand...You look like a gold mine for every girl in philipines especially for those who work on cam sites 20 hours a day until they find a gold mine in USA or Canada, or in any developed country... Good luck ...
