Subject: Sponsoring my husband, but I am dependent on him.
  Hello,

My husband and I would like to move to Canada. I have a PR card, but currently I am not working and I am pregnant. I would like to sponsor him, however, I depend on him financially. Is there a way I can sponsor him ? I will be a stay home mum for some time, when the baby arive.

Thanks,

Yes - you can sponsor him.

Since you are a PR, you can only sponsor him if you are living in Canada. This means that you must be living in Canada when you submit the application to sponsor him and you must continue living in Canada until he is approved for PR.

You can definetly sponsor him, but it is going to take time depending on what country you are sponsoring from. And also you will be asked to show your income , they want to see if you can financially support him when he arrives as he will not be going to work for 1-2months atleast. They want to be sure that you will not be filing for welfare. And keep record of eveything ie phone bills (no calling cards), skype snaps etc because all this will be needed to prove your relationshipe beside the baby!
