Hi I just want to ask a advise the year 1998 my bf as me to marry him only a secret married in the Philippines at that time all I know the secret marriage expire after six month and we don´t live together and broke up after a year the I submit my paper her in Canada last year im single because I never check if there´s a record about my past marriage then one month before I receive my open work permit I found out that I´m legally married to that guy, do you think it will affect my residency here in canda? What should I do? Thanks a lot and waiting for your reply . And what if the guy already married ?

You misrepresented/lied about your marital status.
Now four years later when it is time to apply for PR status you post a question on the forum expecting a reply that you can take to the bank.
If you inform CIC you lied your toast. If you don´t and you get landed then CIC finds out your toast.
Your situation is the same most crooks find themselves stuck in with their occupational choice.
Crime pays real well but the vacation locations are crappy.

Pay no attention to Roy´s rants; he is a poor unemployed guy. You are doomed IF they find out about your marriage, which they might during the security check. If they DO NOT find it, then you will go thru fine. But then, you have to return to that hellhole and rectify the situation if you are nailing other guys in Canada and want to marry one.
