Subject: Spousal Immigration - Medical Exam + Police Cert
  Hello,

I am sending in a spousal immigration application. I am wondering if I must have my medical exam and police certifications completed when I send in my application. Or if I do these things at a later date. Also, if my husband did not work in Canada last year must be provide a Option C print out for his salary records? The website is not very clear on these expectations.

Thank you in advance for you assistance!!!!!

Include all police certificates with the application. Do the medical before you submit the application and include proof with the application that the medical was completed. I would include last year´s option C even if you husband didn´t make any income (presumably he still filed taxes).

Thank you so much for helping me out!!!

If I did not add the police certification will by application be refused or just delayed until. I am wondering because I am currently in China and the cost of fingerprints is way way more expensive than if I did it when I return to america.

Also, do you know if my husband needs to do a medical exam as a sponsor.

If you don´t include the police certificates, this should only delay your application. However there´s no real guarantee what will happen. There´s always a chance Mississauga may return the application as incomplete.

No - your husband doesn´t need a medical.

Ok, thank you. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Also, (sorry for another question) the doctor´s office is telling me that they cannot do my exam until I get a file number from the immigration office. Doesn´t that mean that I cannot get the exam until I have sent in my application?

Thank you SOOOOOOO Much!!!!

Which country´s visa office are you going to be selecting for the processing of your application? China or the US? Assuming you are American, I would select Buffalo. You´ll need to do the medical before you submit your application and include proof the medical has been completed with your application. If you continue to run into trouble getting the medical done in China - you may want to consider holding off until you get to the US (although this may delay the submission of your application for processing if you had planned to submit it before July 1st).

Yes - ideally you should to avoid creating delays with application processing.
