2nd most expensive city to purchase a home.
Not to mention the shitty costumer service you get in restaurants, appartment stores, etc. Plus it is a boring place. Anything that can give you a bit of fun is overly priced.
Awful depressing weather, unfriendly people, arrogant and ignorant canadians with an inflated egos. Aloof asians that can not even share a smile or keep eye contact on the street. It is a bubble gum culture. YUCK!

Gun Hay Fat Choy!

Just so you know... in the chinese culture, it is rude to make prolonged eye contact with a stranger. So who is ignorant - them or you?

apparment stores? you mean department store??? The only ones we have are Sears and The Bay- yup, their service sucks. It sucks in Toronto too.

Not sure where you go out to eat - I am always treated very well. Perhaps you are an ass%($#^& as a customer.

Yup, weather is depressing this week. In another 6 weeks the tulips will be out and we will forget all about the rain.

By the way, the survey you are quoting only measures 325 english speaking cities. I would suggest you move to the US if you want affordable housing - the survey suggests Detroit.

Yes and in Gravelsbourg, Saskatchewan you can buy a house for $35,000.00

There is one visa officer in Hong Kong who always asks "Have you asked your partner what is cost for a couple to live in Canada"?

Silly question. My client answered I don´t know the cost of living in Canada but I know that when I go to Canada I have a job waiting for me, I can walk to work so I don´t need a car, and I have a place to stay for free at my sister In-Laws house until we can afford to buy our own house".

The Visa Officer then asked what it costs to buy a house in Gravelsbourg, Saskatchewan. He replied you can get a nice one for about $50,000.00 the Visa Officer claimed there are no houses for sale in Canada for $50,000.00

Check out MLS

Vitorelli I suggest you check out Cleveland you can get a house there for $12,000.00 and only pay $76.00 a month I think the restaurants there you will be able to afford.

Or go back to Italy, then you will have something to complain about.

It´s not outrageous to be concerned about over-priced housing and an incompatible local dominant culture for immigrants choosing a city in Canada. Cleveland or a remote village in Saskatchewan is funny and are interesting factoids, but doesn´t really address the issue.

Hello (in reply to: Vancouver ( 2nd in most expensive city to buy a ho)
I knew that keeping a prolonged eye contact is considered rude for some oriental cultures. However, I hope that Vancouver really becomes more multicultural instead of bi-cultural.
I am considering Real Estate in Vegas or Latin America. I still have my own in Italy. Rural tiny places in Canada are not for me.
Roy thank you for the advise but owning a house in Vancouver is unfortunately becoming a dream for even born Canadians.

I am sure the East Indian, Farsi and Filipino communities will make sure there are at least 4 cultures well represented in Vancouver.

Vegas? really.

I just googled ´how to file for bankruptcy in Canada´ and got a long list of sites that will tell you what you need to know.

Think carefully.

I am sick and tired of the Government throwing random tax assessments twice a year. I guess that I must be flagged as a very responsible tax payer, so they take advantage of me. I have been assessed twice a year in the last 4 years. I wonder why they can´t just do 1 single detailed assessment, so we can prepare. I must say that I never failed to report any income and my case is pretty straight-forward. They keep squeezeing the middle class´ throat and it will back fire sooner than later.

you are not remitting monthly through your payroll? If not, you are required to make installments. Most people would prefer semi annual or quarterly installments which are usually based on last years remittance.

Or, are they reviewing your income tax file and disallowing a deduction?
