I need a little help

I have 6 years carpentry experience and would like to come to canada and work if possible.
Do I require A job offer first to get a skilled worker visa or can you get a visa then find a job?

Any help on how to get a job would be much appriciated

If you are interested in obtaining a work permit to work on a temporary period of time in Canada you need a job offer first, then your employer has to obtain an approval from HRDC and after that you can submit your application from outside of Canada for your work permit.

If you have enough points to qualify as a skilled worker, then you can fill the forms, paid the fees and send it in. A job offer will give you more points though. Once your application is approved, then CIC will issue an immigrant visa so you can move permanently to Canada.
