Subject: Permanant resident overseas more than 5 years
My mom lived in Canada for 27 years as a landed immigrant. Then 15 years ago she went back to Denmark to take care of my sick grand mother. My grand mother pasted away two weeks ago and now my mom wants to come back and live in Canada with me and my sister. She recently retired and is receiving a partial Canadian and partial Danish pension, she is financially secure. When she originally went back to Denmark she did not think that she would be staying away so long and never informed the Canadian immigration that she left. What is the best way for her to come back?

Inquire at her nearest Canadian embassy to determine whether she is still a permanent resident of Canada and receive the long letter (she is no longer PR).

She may apply on her own to be a PR again.

You may not sponsor her for two years.(165, 000 applicants ahead of you)

Apply for a parent super visa starting Dec 2011.
