  To All

Jason Kenney you can only fool some of the people for a short period of time. Super Visa LOL

Now the act will not change so anyone seeking entry for a temporary period even if it is twenty four months (2 years) must prove they intend to leave at the end of their stay allowed.

Visa Officer have to ascertain that BOTH parents are deserving of a SUPER VISA that could be valid for ten years. Are they willing to risk their careers on issuing such a Visa?

Will a CBSA Officer at a port of entry always agree with a Visa Post Officer assessment of the applicants? Will he/she risk their promotion on granting entry to someone from a country that is not truly stable?

Does Jason Kenney wear blue tights and have a cape? Is he Super Man?

NO!

Yesterday I got at least 25 calls regarding this new SUPER VISA. Mostly from Canadian´s or Permanent Residents who invited their parents for 2 weeks, 2 months or 4 months and all had their parents refused a Canadian Visitor Visa. CVV

Reason for refusal;
Insufficient evidence they will return,
Lack of previous travel abroad,
No evidence that they can support themselves while abroad. etc. etc.

For those that have invited their parents before we all know the cost of Visitor Insurance based on the age of our parents. Most insurance companies will not cover a parent over the age of sixty for more than 180 days. They will not cover anyone over 86.

The standard rate would be $1,000.00 for a six month visit! Now that is without an existing condition. Sounds like US TV commercials.

****So how old would a parent have to be to be able to take 2 years off their work to visit their children in Canada?
****How well established would the parent have to be to take two years off their work?
****How many hoops will the person inviting both parents have to jump through to get them approved for a two year visit?

NOW ASK YOUR SELF THIS.

WHY DO THEY NOT JUST APPLY FOR AS A LONG TERM RESIDENT THROUGH THE CBSA SITE INSTEAD? All they need is a lease!

Since when? an officer at the port of entry gets a promotion based on the amount of people that he/she refuses entry? LOL

Way out....of wack!

Now,
"Reasons for refusal;
Insufficient evidence they will return,
Lack of previous travel abroad,
No evidence that they can support themselves while abroad. etc. etc"

These are pretty standard. It applies to ANY foreign citizen who is applying for a visa from abroad and even with a visa stamped on his/her passport at the POE.

You are making the first two statements sounds like it is something out of this world when it isn´t.

If a person has sufficient ties to their home country and enough funds to support themselfs for two years in Canada likely, they will be able to afford a $2000 yearly insurance. If they had to do it in Europe or the US wouldn´t be any cheaper anyways.

The two year visa, will avoid that parents coming for 6 months don´t have to renew their stay over and over in Canada or even worse, staying illegaly without any kind of health coverage.

So allowing people´s parents to stay for two years instead of 6 months and issuing a 10 year visa is there something wrong?

At then end, these are the laws of the land.

They may not have the $1,000 for 6 months worth of health insurance but the Canadian health care system also does not have the money to pay for their hospital care at $1,000 a day!

Well lets take your point DocD.

What would be the amount of funds parent´s would have to show they have readily available to support themselves for two years in Canada?

$60K - $170K cash?

Oh I forgot people who work at offices with only ten or eleven CBSA staff do not have to stand out from the crowd, since there is no crowd.

Are you really telling me when one Visa Officer refuses a visa their co-worker turns around and approves the Visa next week for the same person? That when persons come to Canada and do things wrong that the Visa Post is not informed of the scam they used? There by getting the Visa Officer put under a magnifier glass.

Insurance can not be purchased for someone over 60 for more then 6 months.

Far better to apply as a seasonal resident. Especially for parents who can use a computer to make a living.

Visitors to Canada health insurance costs (in reply to: 2 Year SUPER VISA Parents)
Just a note on the visitors to Canada insurance: You are right that parents over 85 will have limited options when it comes to health insurance, but some companies do still provide that insurance up to age 89.

After age 60, some companies limit the length of trip available, but most companies don´t restrict this untial age 69. So, about five of Canada´s top travel insurance companies will sell coverage for up to 365 days to age 79.

Of course, there´s always expat health insurance plans available as well (bestquotetravelinsurance.ca). And, details have not surfaced about whether or not the super Visa holder will be eligible to receive a temporary resident visa at the same time - (TRV), which would then allow them to be eligible for OHIP. This will vary from province to province....

Super Visa Visitor (in reply to: 2 Year SUPER VISA Parents)
You guys are overpricing insurance, there are some companies that offer insurance for as long as needed to people over 60 and even those over 86, with pre-existing condition coverage.

For example www.safevisit.ca

and the price really depends on the ages of the people, and their stay. That site has quite reasonable coverage, I called in a got a serious walk through of what is covered, and it sounds pretty much like Government Health Coverage..

So there is hope yet!

The age of my parents is 58 and 55. I shopped for the insurance rates and the cheapest rate that I could found was $1550 per person per year (Punjab Insurance), the total cost being $3100. This covers upto $100000 with $1000 deductable amount. Above that the fees of agent, tickets, embassy fees, etc. will cost you around $6500 to call them here just for 1 year. Everyone can´t afford this much amount.

BestQuoteTravelInsurance.ca would show you that the best rate would be $1208.15 per traveler (age 55 and 58), for $150,000 maximum coverage, $zero deductible.

Half would be refunded if they stayed only six months - provided no claims had been made on policy.

Brian´s got it wrong though - no Canadian companies offer coverage for pre-existing medical conditions past age 85.
