Subject: When does 30 days start
After being given 30 days to leave the country, when does the 30 days start? How my days are given as grace period if the person has been notified by regular mail?

Likely you were given a Volunteer Departure Order.
It is 30 days from the date posted in the form. There is no "grace" period. After 30 days it becomes a deportation order. If you leave within the 30 days, technically you can return to Canada at any time. If it becomes a deportation order then.... things may not work for you if you are planning to return.

@Kuddles, when did you apply for your PRRA? Like Sharon and DocD said, it starts from the date on the form. It would be of good benefit for you, if you leave voluntarily before it become deportation. Was your PRRA forwarded to Vancouver or was it processed at your local office?

The applicant sent the witdrawal letter back in August of 2010. Immigration responded to her letter June of 2011, and we found out Aug 20, 2011 about the 30 days removal.
