my student visa expired two years ago and my indian passport expired 10 months ago. now i want to go back to india
can anyone guide how to go about it

No they don´t.
Contact the Indian Embassy, get a new passport and leave Canada.

No, you don´t need a PR card to leave Canada. Contact your Embassy.

it says i need a valid permit to apply for passport like student permit. will they issue me even if it has expired?

Others issue ´one time use only´ travel documents for their nationals who have lost status in Canada so that they can go back.
Get your flight ticket and a travel document only good for the air-trip, e.g, Valid August 23 to 25, 2011.
