Subject: male PR single now PR married later |
I am a Filipino "permanent resident" now "single". I will be going to the Philippines to get married next year. What things do I have to change (does PR SIN etc needs to be changed or updated?) when I get back here at Canada in order to sponsor my wife soon?

(in reply to: male PR single now PR married later) You do not need to change anything. You will need to fill out the necessary forms to begin sponsorship & pay the fees. Both you & your spouse will have forms to fill. You will need to provide as much evidence as possible to prove that your marriage is not a marriage just to sponsor or a marriage of convenience but is genuine.
The forms can be found on the CIC website - www.cic.gc.ca
Good Luck

(in reply to: male PR single now PR married later) Just to add...
Since you are a PR (rather than a citizen), you must be living in Canada in order to submit the application to sponsor your spouse and you must continue to live in Canada while the application is being processed.

Yes bring her over (in reply to: male PR single now PR married later) She can work here as a caregiver. Here is much better than The Philippines. There is a huge philippino community in Canada.

(in reply to: male PR single now PR married later) as a Canadian citizen you can sponsor your spouse from outside the country but you will have to show intent that you are moving back to Canada.
