Since this is a discussion site I want to bring to your attention Lorrie Goldstein article in the Toronto Sun this Morning.
Stop Phony Refugees - Detain all claimants up to a year!

On the surface she has a valid point that more FSW and Trades people should be allowed in and fewer especially bogus refugee claimants.
I once said in a PRRA application to an Immigration Officer for a client of mine "I don´t understand why 48% of all refugee claimants from all countries win other than someone needs a job on Monday"!
On appeal to the Federal Court the Judge ruled that my evidence was sufficient to prove a risk to life for my client and that I made no error. Yet I got fined for my comment by my former regulator.
NOW - DETAIN ALL CLAIMANTS FOR A YEAR????
Each year Canada gets about 30,000 asylum seekers.
In Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal the cost of detaining someone is approximately $200.00 per day.
To detain 30,000 for 1 day @ $200.00 per day = $6,000.000.00
Six million times 365 days in a year would cost the Canadian Taxpayer
$2,190,000,000.00
Canada does not have weather like Miami and we can´t fence in the Gardiner to create an Immigration Detention Centre like they had in Scareface. So how much does three or four facilities cost to build?
Now the numbers would drop like a rock but what about those real asylum seekers who don´t make it here and die on the shores of another country. How would we feel?
Has to be a more logical and better way!

deport them immediately. or refuse entry to all refugee or ask them to apply abroad before coming here. not a perfect solution but will save us a bundle. we have to look after all our people before helping others.

60,000 x $50,000 = $3,000,000,000.00 ==> which could be spent on better health care or helping our poorer citizen.

What about all those that actually fall in love and apply after getting married.
Many of these start up companies and employ lots of Canadian´s.
If far more could apply there probably would be far less making a bogus claim.

Unless you can come up with a solution that cost next to nothing and can weed out those bogus claimants and would-be terrorists.....
What I am saying is we should look after ourselves first. every day I am bombarded by advertisement to donate for different causes e.g helping children to have a proper breakfast, food banks etc etc. A lot of canadian are having a hard time and we should help them FIRST. Would you rather help your family members or strangers?
If they fall in love and apply, shouldn´t it fall under spousal sponsorship? We are talking about refugees not spousal or FSW.

There is no justification to have a dysfunctional refugee screening system. Why on earth can´t they screen them faster? In light of the savings, it is better to staff the screening agencies than supply so much of scarce resources to bums, who never seem to run out of imaginary persecution. Besides, it is not ok to tell yourself there are probs elsewhere in the world so you need to take all the riff-raff. The vast bulk of refugees, besides having fake or doubtful claims of persecution, are culturally closed and never really assimilate (example, Somalis constitute a serious threat to society, with all their primitive Sharia laws and drug peddling).

"Why on earth canīt they screen them faster?" childish question - always assume things can be done easily.... when you do a background check on say someone in pakistan or china, do you think the police in pakistan or china care about your request???? Can you proceed if you do not get any clearance from the respective police???

I´m talking about poor people in canada. do you agree that there are poor people in canada (through no fault of their own - unemploy, old or disabled) that needs help? I am not talking about bums...
Would you help someone when your own family members are suffering??? maybe koolaid can help by sponsorsing some of them instead - would you do that?

We have to cancel that option from immigration. I can barely survive in Canada with all the taxes and shit the governments makes us pay.
