Subject: sponsoring parent who is a cancer survivor
Just wondering if anybody knows how likely our situation is to be approved/denied.

We applied to sponsor my PR husband´s mother almost 2.5 years ago (so still a long time to go yet). She had previously had cancer, had been cancer free for years until just last month when they discovered that she had cancer again. She has undergone surgery and is now (hopefully)going to again be cancer-free.

We still have approx. 3-4 years at least for her application according to the current timelines. Do we stand any chance at all of getting her here? She has family overseas, but just aging siblings. My husband is her only child, she has no spouse. She will not come here unless she has legal status. Anybody have an idea if this will make her completely inadmissible due to CIC´s take on her health? Is there a certain length of time after serious illnesses such as this where they are no longer deemed a potential drain on health care?

Everything sits at the hands of the Medical Officer with CIC.

Whether it would cause excessive demand on health and social services or not!
