Hi, I am a doctor and I am going to land in Canada next month as skilled worker immigrant but I can´t work there until I finish my exams to work as a doctor .and I was thinking that I might need a welfare at certain time until I can finish exams and work in Canada .
I have my Bosnian girl friend and we want to get married. I was thinking to get married in Bosnia and then sponsoring her to come to Canada as a spouse but being under social assisstance then won´t make that ok.
So I was thinking of helping her to get a visiting visa to Canada and then get married inside Canada and she can apply then for residency as she will be my wife and stay inside until they can approve her residency status. Is that possible ? If so, how can I help her to get s visiting or tourist visa? and can she apply for PR status from insdie Canada after getting married?? and can she extend her vist visa in Canada while she is waiting for her PR??? Please advise ...Thanks alot

Get a loan or a job until you finish exams and work in Canada.

What a mess!!! Doing the medical qualifiers is not a cakewalk; getting residency is mined with political and racial underpinnings. Don´t get depressed, however. But you have to be realistic, and may have to join the countless TAXI drivers in Toronto, until you pass the qualifiers and make into residency. While being a taxi driver, you will run into many other drivers carrying their study materials for medical qualifiers (to read when they have breaks).... After several years of this chorus, you may have a whole different story to tell.... You could visit Toronto and scour for taxi drivers who came here with medical degrees from other countries and are now preparing for qualifiers.

Thank you guys, but you didnt get my point, I was asking of some way that to get my gf into canada by visiting visa and then get married ? because I won´t be able to marry her then sponsor her for getting her into Canada?
So, please tell me how to help her to get a visiting visa into canada and can we get married while she is there inside during her visit and what can happen after ?????

here is the deal - if you collect government assistance you cannot qualify to sponsor - full stop. What makes you think she will qualify to visit? she has to show intent to return home and strong ties to home. If she actually gets to Canada, you must qualify to sponsor, and then she has to qualify as an applicant. Until you qualify... she cannot work. That is about a year of waiting. If your application is denied, there is no appeal on an inland.
Best option... do not require government assistance, marry her in Bosnia and sponsor her while she is still in her home country.
