Subject: My Fiance is a Refugee
  Hi,
My Fiance is a refugee claimant and I was born and raised in Canada, we have been in a relationship for about 11 months and our relationship is genuine. We have been living together for 5 months now, will our marriage affect her claim? Should I send in the sponsorship application after we are married?

If you don´t know what you should do get out of the relationship. Either the relationship is growing or it has reached a dead end.

If it is growing and you both want to marry why are you asking others?

If you get married should you sponsor your wife so the two of you can remain in Canada? You don´t know - it seems such a silly question.

Wake up in each other arms every morning in happiness or cry to sleep at night letting your tears drench your pillow.

It is your choice.

It won´t. Sponsorship and refugee application is not the same. Go ahead and make her feel happy. Good luck

I would wait until the refugee claim is dealt with and learn more about the claim made.

if you wait until the refuge claim is dealt with, you may be suspected of entering into a marriage of convenience for immigration purposes.

Sharon, DocD and Roy (me) have jumped all over 232.244.253 who I think I might know about HIS bad advice.

If you care enough to get married do it now! She still has to go to refugee hearing but all she has to do is inform the board that she is married and HOPEFULLY a In Canada Spousal Application was submitted with you sitting QUIETLY at the back of the room with a huge smile on your face.

Thanks Roy (in reply to: My Fiance is a Refugee)
Roy, When I saw your first reply I was a bit perturbed, Your second reply is the answer I was looking for, and I do care enough. I was not asking if I should or should not marry her as I am marrying her on August 12, 2011 and had asked her long before I came to this site. I just want to make sure I do things right for her. So I will get the In Canada Spousal application done and in the mail.
