Be careful what you put in your luggage.

A Bulgarian Business man came into Toronto on June 8th 2011 and was immediately sent to pick up his suitcases, no questions asked!!! The man had been to Canada on six previous visits using a Bulgarian ppt and has not obtained his EU PPT yet.

Then a CBSA Officer stops him to search his luggage. PROBLEM!

Bulgarian man has a deed to a house in Toronto that he owns, three Canadian Bank debit cards in his name and a Bathroom Renovation Card for a company in Barrie, ON. Ah Ha Bad Boy!!!

Three times his Visa Post has given him a CVV Canadian Visitor Visa twice a multiple entry CVV. He also has just received a 10 year multiple entry USA visitor visa.

Stamps in his passport show he has visited Turkey, Russia, China, USA, Austria and Germany all several times in the last four years. He imports furniture from China and exports same to other countries. Has five retail locations in Bulgaria with proof in his suitcase.

The CBSA Officer trying to keep him detained claimed that CBSA had no knowledge of when he left but stated he entered six times each time within a six month period.....so obviously he never overstayed. Plenty of evidence he entered another country before six months expired from the time he entered Canada.

He bought the house for $350,000.00 and paid various renovation companies $90,000.00 to renovate it makes him a non - genuine visitor according to CBSA!!!!

NO WAY!

The Immigration Division member released him on his own Terms and Conditions stating that he/she had no idea why he was ever detained. Problem is they have all of his identity documents he was fingerprinted and photographed which the US authorities will know about etc. etc.

All because someone got upset that he has a house free and clear all paid for!

That or maybe he keeps telling the officer in every single entry that he is here visiting a friend when in fact he owns a residence in Canada which constitutes a lie?

DocD your silly.

If he lied he would be written up for misrepresentation not a non-genuine visitor allegation.

What is your purpose for visiting Canada today to search out business opportunities.

Is it worth while to sell my house, will I make a profit, should I furnish it and rent it out!

Oh I get it ID Member made a mistake there was clear justification for a non-genuine visitor allegation, LOL LOL

Roy,

If there is a 44 report based on misrepresentation on the actual purpose of the visit due to a lie, he is no longer elegible as a genuine visitor.

That´s it. I don´t know the details.

To All

The issue here is that the first CBSA Officer as he entered asked questions as to his purpose for entering Canada on June 8th 2011 - No Problem have a good visit.

When the second CBSA officer had his luggage looked at and this international business man who has been travelling all over the world had a deed to a house he owns in Toronto he was arrested, detained, photogrphed and fingerprinted.

I guess I should be happy that it happened because I make money but come on.... clear evidence he has never violated any temporary status in any country but because he is welathy he gets detained.

Oh I get it he should buy a house in Cleveland for $500.00 renovate it costing $9,000.00 and sell it for $550.00

Better yet what about houses in Greece, Portugal or Ireland they might have more profit in them.

JUST BE CAREFUL WHAT IS IN YOUR LUGGAE BECAUSE NOT ALL OPINIONS ARE THE SAME.

feb denied entry : future prejudice as tourist ? (in reply to: 44 Report Non-Genuine Visitor)
Am an Australian citizen, anglo-scot descent, recently returned from the U.S. ...[[ voluntary departure ]] planning to make a tourist visit to Canada late June, returning to aust´ mid July.
Back in Feburary, 2010, travelling from the U.S. to Canada to audition at Canadian universities, I was denied entry at Windsor, my univ´ audition doc´s, notwithstanding. The entry denial entry was primarily because i did not have a plane ticket leaving Canada! That, plus the fact that my U.S. student visa had expired, and was clearly not renewable, at least from Canada.

I well recall the somewhat exasperated Canadian head Border officer advising me, finally, that the entry denial was "without prejudice".
However, i do not have, and don´t ever recall, receiving a statement/ document slip detailing this "no prejudice" denial of entry. Should there have been one ? If so, would there also be a computer record confirming it, & that can be accessed at least by canada border immig ??
There was nothing stamped on my passport, either.

I subsequently took a voluntary departure from the U.S. back to N.Z. ...and submitted to an interactive video format recording as an audition to these univs. [[ sadly not successful, however. ]]

MY QUESTION....... Is there a probability i could again be denied entry at Vancouver, the first Canadian port of call, because of that initial denial in February ??? [[ Have visited Canada on at least 4 other occasions, way back in the 80s /90s and never overstayed, no problems. ]]
I may well be asked if i have ever be denied entry to Canada ... & will own up re Feb 2010.
Apart from the round trip ticket I will present Canadian border immig´ with :
#1) a clear un-encumbered passport ;
#2) financial docs from banks in New Zealand, and the United States ;
$3) health statements that list vaccinations ;
#4) reservations for a stay in the Hostels.
#5) a sworn statement of no CRIMINAL record ever.

Will this suffice for entry for a tourist ?

The other worrying "quiet" issue is : back in early February : i sent boxes of my doc´s / books to the city at whose univ´ i hoped to study. Canada post is holding all these boxes poste restante at depot, ...and i have e-mails from the head guy there confirming all this. I really do need to get into canada to arrange freighting of all this stuff back to Aust´

2nd QUESTION : should i mention the objective of freighting my boxes back to Aust´ plus show e-mail correspondence & customs docs´ to Canada immig´ at arrival in Vancouver ?? Since i´m declaring myself a back-packing tourist, something makes me very wary about ever mentioning this.

What are your Thoughts / perspectives ? All counsel very welcome....!
Thanks.....drew
