Subject: single ststus in PR
I have a common law spouse who is now a permanent residence in canada, unfortunately he was declared single in his work and PR application by the agency that processed his permit. He is planning to sponsor me under the family sponsorship, will be it possible? your comments will be appreciated.

No - he can never sponsor you because he failed to declare you as his common law spouse.

Well, if you were his common law partner at the time of the application he commited what is called "misrepresentation".

Under that, there are two thing that very well could happen.

1- An officer can write what is called a 44(a)report and CIC may come after his permanent resident status. He can actually lose it and get himself removed from Canada.

2- Based on his misrepresentation, he will never be able to sponsor you. EVER.
You would have to immigrate on your own merits.

It doesn´t matter if the agency did it or not at the end of the day he signed the application and he is responsable for the content in the application.

I hope you realized or both of you for that effect that what he did, it is a pretty serious offence in this country.
