Subject: Choosing a Port of Entry (Air or Land)
Dear All,

I am scheduled to land in mid-July and was wondering if there would be a difference in the time it took for PR documents to get to me if I landed by air into Pearson Int (Toronto) or by land at Niagara (via the US).

Thanks

It is a 50/50.

Pearson Intl, has a fair amount of staff and depending on how many flights are coming in, the processing can take anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour.

Niagara Falls border crossing depending on the season and so on, might be slighty faster, but if it is a busy day with lots of people sent to secondary then it will take a bit longer since they don´t have the same staff as they do at Pearson Intl.

Again 50/50. The average time in both POE for landing immigrants would be anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes.

Everyone take it easy for a bit and allow me to rephase my question. I was refering to the 2 - 6 week period for PR card, etc to arrive at your Canadian address. I expect that Pearsons is a regional POE but was not sure about Niagara. I would not want to come in via Niagara (most economical) only for my processing to be forwarded to a regional center.

First, Pearson is not a regional airport is an international airport. It doesn´t matter which port of entry you choose, the processing for the the PR card doesn´t happen at the airport anyways.
