The issue here is the Lady was 79 when they first submitted an overseas parental sponsorship and got a letter saying they could get a refund.

Not until the Fire Captain was willing to go to the media did anything happen.

Five years is far better than 13 years.

MEDIA (in reply to: Sponsoring a Parent H&C)
Putting pressure by the means of media works sometimes.

Dear Anonymous 247.188.157 you seem to lack basic knowledge.

Who pays her medical? All applicants pay their own medical. Once approved H&C stage one in Ontario after thirty days of residence all stage one applicants are entitled to OHIP just like everyone else.

Since 2006 this applicant has been paying for any medical needs she might have required by herself.

Now in Canada we have universal Health Care which is a holy cow, lets say. In Canada - if you have no children you are deducted for educational costs. - if you don´t drive your also deducted taxes that cover roads etc.

See the issue was common sense to let her stay and it was something that most Canadian citizens also found as acceptable from the positive postings on the two previous articles.

Compassion always is common sense.

To be eligible for OHIP after being approved in principle.

1. A letter from CIC that your immigration examination has passed.

2. A letter from your employer and an open work permit.

The OHIP coverage will start in 3 months from the date of medical examination to the end of open work permit.

To be eligible for OHIP after being approved in principle;

just need approval letter from CIC + any photo ID + bill or something with house address.
Coverage will start 3 months after the principal approval.
